The MCX-SPEAR in 6.8x51 is SIG's answer to the next-generation intermediate cartridge category — a 16-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel and short-stroke piston system built to handle 6.8x51's higher pressures where a direct-impingement AR-10 would struggle. A folding telescoping Magpul SL-M stock and AR-compatible reduced-angle grip keep the manual of arms familiar despite the more powerful cartridge, and the SIG 2-stage match trigger gives a clean break for precision work at extended range. A 20-round steel AR-10-pattern magazine and M-LOK/Picatinny forend compatibility round out a platform built for shooters who want 6.8x51's terminal performance and extended effective range over standard 5.56 or 7.62.
