Licensing
GUNLINE ARMS operates under a Finnish Firearms Trade License (ase-elinkeinolupa), issued by the National Police Board (Poliisihallitus) under the Finnish Firearms Act and EU Firearms Directive 2017/853. This license authorizes us to trade in firearms, firearm components, and ammunition, and to coordinate cross-border transfers with licensed dealers in destination countries.
Age Verification
Firearms purchases require the buyer to be at least 18, with some categories available from a younger age only where national law permits and a valid permit is held. We verify age against your acquisition permit and government-issued ID before any firearm transfer completes. Optics, accessories, and non-restricted equipment carry no firearms-specific age requirement.
Identity Verification
Every firearms buyer must provide a valid government-issued photo ID and a valid national acquisition permit before a transfer is finalized. For cross-border orders, your licensed dealer in the destination country independently verifies your identity and permit at collection, in line with EU Directive 2017/853 traceability requirements.
Legal Purchase Requirements
To buy a firearm from GUNLINE ARMS you need: a valid national acquisition permit or license for the category you're buying (e.g. hankintalupa in Finland, vapentillstånd in Sweden, Waffenbesitzkarte in Germany); proof of underlying need where your country requires it (hunting license, sport-shooting club membership, or professional need); and a valid government-issued ID. Export Rules
All cross-border firearms exports from Finland are conducted under EU Firearms Directive 2017/853 Article 11, which requires a pre-authorized transfer notification between the exporting and importing member state before a firearm leaves our warehouse. GUNLINE ARMS files this notification on every cross-border order — you never need to file it yourself.
Import Rules
Import requirements are set by your country of residence, not by GUNLINE ARMS. Most member states require the receiving dealer or individual to hold a valid import authorization or acquisition permit matching the firearm category before the shipment is released. Norway, as an EEA (not EU) member, applies its own customs process outside the EU Directive framework.
Restricted Items
GUNLINE ARMS does not sell fully automatic firearms or any item classified as prohibited under EU Firearms Directive 2017/853 Category A. Certain magazine capacities and configurations are restricted or require additional permits in specific countries — these restrictions are noted on the relevant product pages.
Shipping Procedures
Firearms ship exclusively to a licensed dealer in your country or, where national law permits direct delivery, to your registered address with signature and permit verification on delivery. Non-firearms items ship directly to any valid address within our served countries. All shipments are tracked and insured — see our Shipping Policy for delivery timelines by country.
Dealer Transfers
Where firearms must be collected from a licensed local dealer, GUNLINE ARMS coordinates directly with that dealer: we pre-file the Article 11 transfer form, the dealer receives shipment notification before the firearm leaves Helsinki, and you complete final identity/permit verification in person when you collect it. No additional coordination is required from you beyond providing your dealer's details at checkout.
Returns
Firearms may only be returned if they arrive damaged or materially not as described, and only before a legal transfer under your national permit has completed. Optics, accessories, and equipment may be returned within 14 days of delivery, unused and in original packaging. Full details in our Returns Policy.
Warranty
All firearms and optics we sell carry the original manufacturer's warranty, honored either directly by the manufacturer's EU service center or coordinated through us. Warranty terms, duration, and coverage vary by manufacturer and are listed on each product page.

GUNLINE ARMS operates under two overlapping legal frameworks: EU Firearms Directive 2017/853, which governs cross-border transfers, weapon categorization, and deactivation standards across the EU; and the Finnish Firearms Act (Ampuma-aselaki), which governs our trade license, storage, and sale conditions as a Finland-based dealer. Where a destination country's national law is stricter than the EU baseline, the stricter national rule applies to your purchase.

What happens if my permit application is delayed or rejected?+
Your order is held until your permit is confirmed — we never ship a firearm without a valid permit on file. If an application is rejected, contact us and we'll cancel and refund the firearm portion of your order.
